The impact of access to credit and training on technological adoption: a case of the rice sector in Tanzania

Abstract

The imbalance between domestic production of rice and rice consumption has been growing in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Nevertheless, one possible strategy for achieving productivity improvement is to seek an Asian-style rice Green Revolution in SSA. This paper tries to investigate conditions and ways to improve rice yield in SSA, focusing particularly on the impact of access to credit and training on technological adoption.
