Traditional Apprenticeship Practice in Dar es Salaam

Abstract

Nell and Shapiro conducted a survey in Dar-es-Salaam in September 1999 to find out more about traditional practice of apprenticeship in the informal sector, with a view to designing a vocational education intervention related to the existing practice. They focused on eight trades, taking into account gender issues.
