Regional Workshop: Introduction of Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) to reform Technical/Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Systems in East and Southern Africa: Status, Challenges, Perspectives

Abstract

This report outlines the proceedings and results of a regional workshop in Dar-es-Salaam on Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) as a means to reform existing Technical/ Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems in Southern and Eastern Africa. CBET being defined as “outcome (employment)-oriented” and modularised TVET focusing on hitherto disadvantaged groups of the population.
