The local government reform process and sub-district development management issues in Tanzania

Abstract

In 1996 the Government of Tanzania decided to restructure and downsize its regional administration aiming at making the local government more efficient and effective particularly in service provision. This promulgated the local government reform agenda 1996-2000.
