District NGO networks

Abstract

This issue paper narrates the development of SANGO, the Same Association of Non-Governmental Organisations, from its initiation as an informal forum of NGOs and CBOs to a full-fledged network. The time consuming process of establishing an organisation and setting up a relevant organisational structure to lead a network are explained as well as the input of members into setting up such a type of organisation. The co-operation with the government authorities and private sector has been good since its initiation and as a result SANGO is being regarded as a respected partner in the District. This booklet describes the members' responsibilities towards the network and also the interrelationship among members
