Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine monotheraphy in Tanzania children gives rapid parasite clearance but slow fever clearance that is improved by chloroquine in combination therapy

Abstract

The study was about the assessment of the effects of antipryretic of CQ in therapeutic combination with SP,among children with uncomplicated malaria and examined the theoretical concerns on delayed clinical and parasitological responses to SP.as a result of its action on the late stage parasites. It further systematically and prospectively evaluate the hypothesis that by actingon the late stage of the parasites,SP will be slow in parasites clearance thus delaying the desired clinical effects
