Abstract

This Briefing Note from DFID’s Knowledge Programme on HIV/AIDS and STIs looks at an innovative intervention programme on adolescent sexual and reproductive health implemented by AMREF, working together with the Tanzanian Government. Within a community randomised trial, the intervention’s impact on rates of HIV, other sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy; on adolescents’ knowledge, reported attitudes and reported behaviours; and its cost-effectiveness, have been evaluated by the Tanzanian National Institute for Medical Research
