The protection of maize against Prostephanus truncatus (Horn), using insecticide sprays in Tanzania

Abstract

Trials were undertaken in Tanzania to examine the residual efficacy of spray applications of insecticide mixtures as protectants of shelled maize grain against infestation by Prostephanus truncatus (Horn) and Sitophilus species. Application of 0 .5 mg/kg deltamethrin, applied with either 8 mg/kg pirimiphos-methyl
