Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) concept as advocated by the Breton institutes is considered necessary for economic growth in developing countries. The concept was tied to overarching goal of poverty reduction hence justification for poor countries including Tanzania to implement the policy. Subsequently, the engineers of FDI insisted on creation of conducive environment for investors including the removal of nuisance taxes.
